Setting Up Your 80mm Thermal Printer
BizEasePOS is designed to work out-of-the-box with almost all 80mm and 58mm thermal POS printers. Because we use browser-based printing, you don't need complex drivers or software installations to get started.
Step 1: Physical Connection
First, ensure your printer is correctly connected to your computer or device.
- USB Printers: Connect the USB cable to your PC. Windows or Mac will usually detect it automatically.
- Bluetooth Printers (58mm mobile): Pair the printer in your device's Bluetooth settings.
- Network/LAN Printers: Ensure the printer is connected to your router and has a valid IP address.
Step 2: Install Basic OS Drivers
While our software is web-based, your operating system needs to know the printer exists.
- Most modern operating systems will install generic ESC/POS drivers automatically when you plug in a USB printer.
- If it doesn't, insert the CD that came with your printer or download the driver from the manufacturer's website (e.g., Epson, Xprinter, Star Micronics).
- Ensure you can print a "Test Page" from your operating system's printer settings.
Step 3: Configuring the Browser Settings
When you hit "Print" in BizEasePOS, your browser's print dialog will open. This is where you configure the receipt layout.
Crucial Step: You must configure the paper size and margins correctly in the browser print dialog for thermal receipts to look right.
- Destination: Select your thermal printer from the dropdown list.
- Paper Size: Select
80mm x 297mm(or whatever size corresponds to your printer roll). If you have a 58mm printer, select the 58mm option. - Margins: Set margins to
NoneorMinimum. Thermal printers have built-in hardware margins. - Headers and Footers: Turn this OFF. You do not want the browser printing the URL and date at the top and bottom of your professional receipt.
- Scale: Keep at
100%orDefault.
Step 4: Print a Test Receipt
Create a test invoice in BizEasePOS and click the print button. If you followed Step 3, the receipt should print perfectly formatted for your thermal roll.
